Dj Papelón Kifesh

Miss Papelón Kifesh is the creator of the theme and organization.___'‘Papelón Kifesh'' It will be the introduction for this new Global Fusion event. Let’s share together this essential meaning of Global music. To create and develop more events with the collective of people and musicians who really know the core of the music. But also the history, and the roots of our rhythm of the music. The reason why I have chosen for the theme ''Papelón Kifesh'' is; because Global Fusion music has so many influences, that the rhythm inspires me very deeply. The journey through South America and Africa brought me closer to the music. Not the commercial side of music, but the people with their beautiful smiles, knowledge and love for the essential traditional music. Like live music playing in the streets, on national cultural parties, during ceremonies, etc. It is my challenge, my wish and my hope to develop this event around the core of Global music in a collective new style recreation; the name of the organization was ‘’El Disfrute Colectivo Del Papelón'' But the new name of the organization since march 2018 is: ''Papelón Kifesh’

Theirs is a world of hidden machine music, amplified by homemade pick-ups, shining 16-bit threads of melody and zen-like process music, mingling performance and playfulness. Very much our sort of thing.

Plan Kruutntoone - wat doen de handen (SOTU Fest/ 12 April/ Zaal 100)

' ..and again I woke up. it renders Xenakis pale. shifting myself and stuff around in search of security. how to put it to make it to that?' The fifth album of Plan Kruutntoone is called ‘Wat doen de handen / What are the hands at’. The album stands out by bringing together Plan Kruutntoone’s uncompromising own music and pieces for string quartet, written by Hans. The notes bind it together, as do the disconcerting text fragments of Beckett (‘grope in a panic in the mud for the opener that is my life but of what cannot as much be said could not as much be always said my little lost always vast stretch of time’) alternated with those by Hans. They convey a sense of isolation that, by singing about it, opens up. The result is fragile at times, strangely compelling, harsh and repetitive at others.

VIOLENT MAGIC ORCHESTRA - Divorcer (SOTU Fest/13 April/Occii)

"VIOLENT MAGIC ORCHESTRA is an unique project comprised of dark techno prodigy Paul Régimbeau (Mondkopf, Extreme Precautions, Autrenoir), Japanese experimental black metal collective Vampillia and noise master Pete Swanson (ex-Yellow Swans). Their ten-tracks debut album "Catastrophic Anonymous" features vocal contributions from Attila Csihar (Sunn o))), Mayhem) and Chip King (The Body). VMO's overall sound is a multi-headed beast that can't be pitched in a single line. "Catastrophic Anonymous" roots are indubitably those of a harsh record, with expansive black metal guitars powered by Extreme Precautions-style glitchy textures & brain-melting drum machine work as well as Pete Swanson's noisy soundscapes. Then it also covers a wide range of genres - flirting with industrial techno, post-rock or drone - while always sounding effortlessly natural. Mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, Atomsmasher) and illustrated by french artist Metastazis, "Catastrophic Anonymous" is the fruit of boundary-pushing people, and a refreshing, spectacular experience."

BSE - 27-6-17 (Tonight/SOTU FEST/10 April/ LIVE from 23:00/ radiopatapoe.nl)

As Frankie & Havan were preparing, Remon Zippo tumbled into the studio, barely able to stand on his feet - perfectly in shape though for some of his more deeply felt moans of desperation and madness. The adconverter went into total overdrive for the first 15 minutes. Boris stepped in with his magic suitcase of modulars and spaghetti wires projecting his noisy best into the feedback. With Frankie mumbling and making his setup scream. Bouk came to expose the magic of his octatrack. After an hour Shoko came in - going full on telling us stories and speaking to our understanding through waves not words. Waves were there alright, spitting screaching sensory overloads into the damp smelly atmosphere of out welcoming hangout - standers-by wandering what the hell, some curious, most running out in total confusion. Ending with just Havan and Bouk- going on quite a subtle note to make it ll come to rest (before ending in a totally disruptive Rot Op Patapoe) All of that in just nearly 5 hours!

Cyclikweetos - Arbeit macht dumm (SOTU Fest/ 14 April/ Occii Attic)

CYCLIKWEETOS (FR, Paris/93) (Indus Dark Mongol - Techno Punk) Cyclikweetos is the sound that comes out of your cereal box after 3 weeks of insomnia. When the waking nightmare ends up in irrepressible laughter and you strangle yourself with too much kibble. A trio of electronic torture then engrosses in your sick brain. A bizarre mix of martial arts and cheap music for gullible tourists who make your snot eyes squirt from the first note. Trying to escape your headache, you get lost in the streets and finish your evening wriggling on the dance floor of the geriatric ward of the public hospital where every old man wears telescopic glasses. One of them whispers you between two pirouettes that a Japanese medieval dog has encrusted in the evening. Suddenly panicked, you want to go get poisoned in the toilet to relax with the black fruit that the dealer of roses you exchanged an hour ago against the back of your girlfriend at the entrance of the building. Poison rises in your skeletal body that has nothing to lose. That your dance never stops.

Dj Matinee (SOTU Fest/14 April/ Occii Attic)

Heidi Hörsturz - T-Rex in love (SOTU Fest/14 April/ Occii)

The media artist “Heidi Hörsturz” is working with audiovisual performances, video and sound art. Her work has been presented at international exhibitions, gallerys and art festivals. Her animations, live shows and installations combine contemporary art and modern trash aesthetics. She published a series of limited sound art vinyls and audiotapes. These works research the connection between noise, artificial overstimulation and constructed visual associations. A key element of her work is the emphasis on the desire of the contemporary society to get more overstimulation in rapidly shrinking attention spans. Also Hörsturz believes that the search for shocking information and sexual content and the yearning for a colourful world tries to replace the current depression. The repression of self-reflection with audiovisual brain attacks represents a striving for an artificially constructed world.

Dj Bloodhole (SOTU Fest/ 14 April/ Occii)

During the 'welcome to hell' G20-Protest in Hamburg last July thousands of people took to the streets to protest the meeting of the leaders of the 20 most industrialized nations. The protest encountered heavy police repression that started a riot. The German state seized this opportunity to attack and criminalize autonomous structures. More than 100 people have been arrested under whom Peike from Amsterdam. He was the first to go on trail for allegedly throwing 2 beer bottles at police officers. The prosecution demanded 1 year and 7 months. the verdict. a jail sentence of 2 years and 7 months, to set an 'example' and demonstrate that 'riot tourism' is not tolerated. We have to show that this kind of government repression should not be tolerated. That making an example of somebody means a human life is wasted in a police cell in order to make propaganda. We have to do what we can to show solidarity with the victims of this repression, and to support their legal struggle. all donations go to prisoner support. credits released February 16, 2018 thanks to all participating artists and labels.

Del_F64.0 - Treffen gegen Taschengeld E.P. (SOTU Fest/14 April/ Occii))

Del_F64.0 is a commercial project to make the founding members rich and famous. It is based on the model "696 steps to success" by Prof. Dr. Bratislav Methulsky, dealing with filthy psychoanalytic hipster crowdfunding methods, secret sexual humiliation of the audience and wrong promises of free beer if you buy a disc after the shows. The members themselves are two perfectly looking women because this it how it works. They do not even stop at presenting their cut off superlong dicks as a special gift offer for the first die hard fans after buying a lifelong Del_F64.0-clubmember card that implies an ugly permanent anchor tattoo with the projectlogo on the fans genitals. In 2012 the project got arrested for the first time for giving fuck 2 pay for one offers to people in a degenerated Christian gangster retirement home. With the arrival of the police they jumped out of the windows into their "Del_F64.mobile" and tried to escape with a "kickstart + turboboost + incredible faceclash acceleration till dimension popovitcz" tripplehit combo. But they were out of gas, Now they are back from jail and horny as fuck because there not even the rats wanted to rape them (but at least had enough sympathy to subscribe to their worstly made amateur youtube channel). Developing excessively pimped vibrators to satisfy their needs they accidentally became inventors of the so called 'beatwhore' music which triumphs the charts and fries soundsystems worldwide. Fans say, in 2015 the project has become even more boring, commercial and predictible then ever.

Seamus Cater - The Three Things You Can Hear

"The first track on Seamus Cater‘s latest record, ‘The Three Things You Can Hear‘, introduces such a unique and singular sound that, paradoxically, the listener’s first instinct is to go searching for comparisons and precedents. It’s a tough job. Sure, there are elements of Ivor Cutler but in Cater’s work the music is tied to the voice, and to the content of the lyrics, in a way that is natural, organic and inseparable. There is an aftertaste of Arthur Russell here too, and a hint of atonality that recalls Nico’s work with John Cale, or indeed some of Cale’s more challenging solo work. But none of those comparisons really nails it. There is a narrative element to Cater’s record that becomes more apparent – and more engrossing – the more you hear it. That first song – Crabb 9807 – documents the rescue of a 1941 concertina from junk shop obscurity in Amsterdam, and the slow rehabilitation of that instrument until it was in a state where it could be played on – you guessed it – this album. The ultimate example of the twin narratives of music and lyrics binding together. The style is almost bardic in its ability to relay narrative. A truly original record with a cosmopolitan and at times improvisational feel." Thomas Blake - FRUK

Dirar Kalash - Like Holding Onto Hot Coal (SOTU Fest/15 April/Occii)

Improviser, composer and multi-instrumentalist Dirar Kalash (b. 1982, Palestine) As multi instrumentalist, multi-media artist and improviser, DIRAR KALASH explores open concepts, collective improvisation and open software.
